~~MUSEUM COPY~~ The equestrian events were held in ancient Greece during the Olympic Games of antiquity and other nationwide events like the Pythian or Nemean. They consisted of various types of chariot races which took place the first time in 680 BC when the course of the competition was extended to allow time for perpetrating new competitions, [1] and from the races that were a race of horsemen, however sport repealed soon enough. As winners not seen the riders or drivers of chariots -iniochoi- but their owners -ippotrofoi- who were and those who were crowned.
